NGC 6888

NGC 6888 is nominated crescent nebula due to its shape. It is located at 2.8 degrees southwest of the Gamma Cygn star.
It is an emission nebula which derives from the explosion of a supernova and the star Wolf-Rayet WR 136 (HD 192163) is located in the middle of the nebula.
It is believed, following the latest observations made by NASA's Chandra-X Ray satellite, that Wolf-Rayet WR 136 (HD 192163) will explode as a supernova in about 100,000 years.
